JOIN OUR
VOLUNTEER TEAM

It takes an incredible team to bring the Port Fairy Marathon to life, and we'd love you to be part of it.

A cartoon illustration of a bearded man with closed eyes and a big smile, wearing a shirt that says "YES ALL DAY." He has his hands on his hips, and a large orange heart is floating next to his head.

Whether you can spare a few hours or a full day, volunteering is a fun way to soak up the atmosphere, meet new people and experience race day from the other side of the finish line. You'll be cheering runners on, welcoming visitors and helping create the friendly, community feel that makes this event so special.

There’s a role for everyone, including:

  • Finish line attendants

  • Registration, information and bag drop

  • Drink station crews (perfect for community groups and sporting clubs)

  • Course and pedestrian marshals

  • Lead bike riders and on-course cycling marshals

  • Pre-event setup and event assistants

Every volunteer receives:

  • An official Port Fairy Marathon volunteer shirt

  • A snack pack during your shift

  • An invitation to our post-event volunteer thank you celebration

  • Entry into prize draws from our amazing event partners

  • Volunteer hour sign-off and a certificate, if required for school, university or community programs

Volunteering as a group?

Community groups, schools and local clubs are encouraged to get involved together. As a thank you, Port Fairy Marathon can make a donation to eligible organisations that volunteer as a team. Get in touch to find out more.

No matter where you lend a hand, you'll head home knowing you helped thousands of runners enjoy an unforgettable day in Port Fairy!
